I grew up in Austria, where I studied Meteorology at the University of Vienna. After that I decided to make my life long dream of becoming a writer reality. Now I am a published author and write and edit a variety of texts stretching from website content and advertisements to short stories, poems and books. Teaching is a main passion of mine and I love to share curiosities, fun facts and just basic rules of the German language. Since I lived abroad (Danmark) for a while, where I also learned Danish, I know the struggles and rewards of learning a new language.
My main focus with teaching is to give students confidence in speaking. My lessons are a safe place, where language can be explored as deeply as the students want. I love sharing cultural specifics, use texts as basis for discussions (in general but also in particular about new vocabulary and hard grammar) and tongue twisters for pronunciation. After the lesson the student should feel full and satisfied as if they just enjoyed a great meal. The new material needs to be digested, but already left a taste, so my students feel at bit of progress right away.
Depending on the interests and level of my students I have different approaches. I like to individually plan each lesson to ensure the best results for all students.
