Hello, 안녕하세요, こんにちは my name is Steven. I am from Sydney Australia and I am a language teacher ready to start the language journey with you. I was born in Seoul, South Korea and lived there until I reached 6th grade in primary school. I then moved to Australia with my family where I lived ever since. I graduated from UNSW with bachelors degree on Japanese, Korean, ESL and Secondary Education. I became a high school teacher in Australia and taught for 3 years and moved to Japan to teach English there for 2 years. I have recently returned home from my journey and want to expand my career as a language teacher. As a language teacher, I have a lot of different interests and hobbies that helped me learning about the cultural and linguistic aspects of the target languages. This includes music, anime, games and reading. I try to connect and share my passion with my students and incorporate them into my lessons. I would love to find out about your hobbies and discuss them for our lessons. I believe that the most important activity to learn a language is to interact with the native speakers. Studying through text books and vocabulary memorisation helps for sure but it is never as fast and effective as having comfortable conversation. I prefer my lessons to be quite casual and relaxed but knowing and working towards a clear goal. I really enjoyed this introductory class with Steven. I think the set-up for the course is incredibly smart as he uses the first class to figure out your needs and tailer-makes a lesson/direction for you. He's incredibly understanding of my goals and needs for learning Korean, and I really appreciate that. Time flew by during this lesson. I look forward to taking more classes with him.
