I am French. I come from Aurillac, a little town in the Massif Central region, and I have studied in Clermont Ferrand and Bordeaux. I now live in London, where I have been for the last 10 years.
I have always had a passion for languages. When I was little, I used to sing along to English tapes for kids. I studied applied languages and literary translation in which I have a masters degree. French is my native tongue and I am fluent in English. I have also studied German and Arabic. I am just starting Sanskrit, since I am also a yoga teacher.
I taught as a French assistant in English schools for two years and I led linguistic trips for French teenagers in England every summer for 7 years, when I was a student. I am now a French tutor, a yoga teacher and a literary translator. I translate books from English into French.
I specialise in conversation and oral preparation for exams like A Levels and GCSE. I like to teach informally, like a chat between two friends, in order to boost my students confidence to speak. Once that is established, we start aiming at speaking in the most grammatically correct way, but the emphasis is always on being understood first, before being correct. I do love grammar though, so it’s always a pleasure to go a bit more in depth if my student is interested.
