This is Yuci, I'm from Beijing and now working at a private school in England. Friendly, cheerful, and patient might be three words to describe me. Also, I'm open-minded, curious, and always being ready for other perspectives. I love art and music, I'm good at painting and singing. If you like, I can even teach you how to cook decent Chinese cuisine, while practising Mandarin (definitely not the takeaway stuff). With my passion and knowledge, I can surely help you to improve your skills in Mandarin. I have two-year experience in language teaching, ESOL, IELTS, and Mandarin. Compared with teaching in a classroom setting, I prefer to teach in a casual way that allows students to use the language naturally. Experiential learning can be an efficient method. Practise is the key to master a language. To practice with a language companion with the knowledge in English and Mandarin, like me, can be really beneficial for you. In talking practice, there can be different topics and themes for each learner. For beginners, I may use pictures to illustrate things, e.g. to show a right tongue position of a sound in Mandarin. For media-senior learners, I'll try to use Mandarin only to communicate with them. I like being creative in tutoring. In the past several years, I gradually learn how to lead learners to achieve their goals with acceptable strategies according to their personalities and needs.
