My experience includes ten years experience teaching English at the secondary and university levels, five years experience teaching Business English to executives and professionals, including lawyers and engineers, plus eight years teaching primary grade students in the public schools in the United States My study of languages includes German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. My second language is Spanish. I like to use visual aids (photos and videos) to teach English conversation.

Here in China I found a lot of people, both kids and adults that wanted to speak or learn from foreigners. As such I slowly learned how to teach people. Prior to becoming a Film Editor, I worked as an English teacher in Guatemala City where I acquired an English Teacher Certificate at IGA (Instituto-Guatemalteco- Americano) While working as a teacher; I had the opportunity to work with different types of people; I taught children, teenagers, and adults. I started tutoring people in language and in math during my university days, and early on learned that patience is a big factor in making the student(s) learn comfortably. This comes from my experience at my secondary school where due to the high amount of cultural exchange and engagement you begin to understand that everyone has a different way of understanding things. It is also because of these experiences that I believe that the practical sessions are a little more important than the theory aspect of things. Hence I tend to put more focus on actual practicing of the speaking by having regular conversations so people are more adept to the everyday usage of the language.

I have been improving my teaching methods through years by attending seminars in different fields and trying to find the easiest possible way to help my students learn a foreign language effectively. I like being a teacher because at the same time I teach my students and learn from them as well. There is nothing more valuable for me than seeing a happy smile on the student's face after having some difficulties while learning a language and finally managing to overcome them. I have been teaching German and English for some time and we can adapt each lessons to your individual language skills to make the best out of our time together.
