Hello, italki members! I am a native Russian speaker. I will be glad to help intermediate (and higher) learners to improve their speaking skills.

I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language since 2018, mainly in summer schools but also on a one-to-one basis. I prefer to teach adults either Business or Academic English, drawing on my experience as an engineer to assist you in your professional or academic success. But I am happy to teach any student wishing to further their knowledge and understanding of the English language so please get in touch.

I will be your friendly tutor! While I don't have training as an educator, when I was in high school I tutored a few younger children. One of them went from an F to an A. Having been a student most of my life I can relate to questions you might have and struggles many students go through when learning new subjects. I also have experience living in four countries. Through these experiences I know the importance of how language and culture intertwine. On that note, I will take into account our potential cultural differences and use them to our advantage when we tackle difficult material.

I have taught history (US, European, World, Asian) to elementary school children up to university students. Along with teaching history, I have taught English and Japanese to children and adults. I genuinely enjoy teaching and want to connect with more students.

I wanted to be a teacher because I felt like there was a need for better foreign language teachers. I think too many teachers instruct their students in an outdated way, and I want to change that. As of right now, my teaching experience falls into two categories. The first is my internship/practicum that I did in the spring of 2018 with my former Latin teacher. I worked under my teacher, and I helped students with understanding the basic mechanics of Latin. The second category is teaching Sunday School at my church, where I gained experience teaching children and teenagers. Finally, I took four years of Latin and one year of Russian in high school. Now I am working towards a degree in TESOL.

I have been a teacher since 2014 and have taught in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Budapest (Hungary), Almeria (Spain), Oxford and Edinburgh (U.K.). My speciality is in improving natural oral fluency. I believe that it is vital for students to be able to communicate in the real world, so I place a lot of emphasis on the way we speak naturally. All sorts of grammatical distinctions and clarification are found through these natural discussions. I have taught all ages from 5-70 across a wide range of levels. This includes exam preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge First etc.), business and conversational English. I can provide homework and post-lesson feedback in all courses.

I'm a relaxed and upbeat person in general, so you can definitely expect that in our lessons as well. I believe that every teacher should try to motivate their students as much as possible, and that teachers should also respect the students' wishes. An effective teacher begins with a solid relationship with the student. It's not only about teaching, but it's about connecting with the student on a level that feels comfortable for them!

As a language teacher, I have a lot of different interests and hobbies that helped me learning about the cultural and linguistic aspects of the target languages. This includes music, anime, games and reading. I try to connect and share my passion with my students and incorporate them into my lessons. I would love to find out about your hobbies and discuss them for our lessons. I believe that the most important activity to learn a language is to interact with the native speakers. Studying through text books and vocabulary memorisation helps for sure but it is never as fast and effective as having comfortable conversation.

As a teacher I take into account my students' interests and integrate those ideas to my classes. I use a communicative approach, we discuss topics together and while discussing it you'll be learning grammatical structures and new vocabulary into the lesson.
