As mentioned in the video, I'm a massive geek and love board games, card games and roleplaying games. This is something that I'm in the process of turning into a job, having started my own games business. I also enjoy travelling and in 2018 I moved from the UK to Spain to experience what it's like to live in another country. It's been a really rewarding experience, and I'm so glad I did it. Before I left the UK, I did a 20-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification. So while I'm only on Italki as a community teacher, I do actually have some training in how to teach English. I have also taken part as a native English speaker on a Diverbo residential course, spending an entire week with individuals wanting to improve their English. This involved one-to-one conversations, group activities, conversations at mealtimes, etc. with the non-native speakers. My accent is British English, but I am familiar with many of the words, phrases, and spellings that differ between this and American English. My lessons will generally be based around conversations between the two of us. The topic of this conversation will depend on your level and needs of the student, as well as any particular areas of interest that you have. During the conversation, I will be listening not just to what you are saying, but how you are saying it so that I can correct any errors in your grammar or pronunciation. Bez is really a lovely person and I enjoyed talking to him. He corrected my pronunciation very patiently and helped me with my German-English translation. I definetely recommend him as a teacher.
