As a teacher, I enter each classroom with a rich experience allowing me to identify both a student's strengths and weaknesses. I am flexible and approachable, and I make a concerted effort to help ease any tensions a student may be feeling towards learning a new language or attempting to pass a test. I am a great believer that the learning experience should be a pleasurable one, and that people perform best in the classroom when they are enjoying the process. I am British and speak the English language with a very neutral accent which makes me easy to understand. I am also very familiar with the IELTS test, having successfully coached many students from around the world to reach their goal.

My greatest passion is teaching. I have taught students ages 4 to 68; and all levels, from advanced executive training to pre-beginners, and even accent reduction. I am a teacher of communicative English with more than 8 years of teaching experience. I can also teach my native language Bengali with the same ease. My courses are designed to suit the individual need of students as I believe each students have different learning styles. I teach English and Bengali from A1 - C2 level. I've always believed that teaching should be a part of my career because I love it and I believe in its value. Bringing the juice of my experience in learning and languages and using them as a powerful tool in real-life situations to negotiate, persuade, communicate and solve problems. There isn't a clear boundary between "Me as a Teacher" and "Me as someone else". I think this is the best description about me: Teaching is my life. I am devoted to it so I can't separate myself into various faces. All I have is one face; my teaching face. I have been teaching English since July 2018. About a year ago, I went back to study to become a teacher and came back with a distinction and a qualification -TQUK Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (RQF). I also completed an additional 20 Hours of classroom practice. I progressed further and successfully completed and passed a 30-hour Teaching Business English course and this has become my forte and I focus on teaching students at all levels from elementary to intermediate to advanced level where they want to improve their language skills for business or general english.

As a teacher I always set the goal to teach at international school level with the highest expectation while keeping a fun, proactive and interactive teaching and learning approach.

I am a certified English Tutor (TESOL); specifically teaching English to speakers of other Languages. I specialize in IELTS, Business English, Conversational and others. I have also taught science-related subjects at University level where i hold a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering. I have close to 10 years in both traditional classroom settings and on the internet. I have prepared students for IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, and CAE.

During my schooldays I discovered that I excelled in language classes and I chose English and French as major subjects. Later on, I had the chance to intensify my language skills and add other languages during a vocational training and tourism studies. While I learned those languages in a classical classroom setting, there were no language courses or books available to learn the languages of Malaysia. I had to learn them by listening to and communicating with the local people. I might not have the qualifications of a professional teacher, but I can tap into my experiences of learning languages and I can draw a lot of valuable and useful knowledge from there to share with you.

I love teaching kids as well as adults of diverse ages and backgrounds in a variety of settings. I have various materials which includes flashcards, picture dictionaries, grammar and vocabulary textbooks as well as a vast array of general English learning materials .

The reason I have decided to start tutoring on italki is because I love to help people, communicate with them in the language I love and learn about their different cultures.
