My name is Sylvie. And I've been learning quite a few languages on Italki. You can just youtube my nickname Sylin and you'll see:-) I'm a french native speaker (with a Parisian accent) and I'm looking forward to teaching you this beautiful language. My lessons will be based mostly on conversations, and I will surely customize them to your needs. I have also experience in tutoring French high school pupils preparing for the french bac exam. I've been teaching on Italki for almost a year now and I've helped more than a hundred students. As a tutor, I always try my best to help my students and I feel rewarding to see their improvement over the time.

I'm new on Italki, but I'm not new to teaching ! It's been over three years now since I gave my first lesson, in a training center near Paris, and I've learned a lot about teaching since then. In the city of Rouen, I've worked on a regular basis at a language school where I've had a lot of students, ranging from beginners to more advanced, from more countries than I can list. I focus on the true needs of each student, and I often remind them that practice makes perfect. French has so many language dialects and a lot of slang so I'm not going to judge someone for their accent when speaking French - there are over 20 countries that speak French so there are that many ways to speak French while being a native speaker. I'll teach you the basics that most French people use in their daily lives and teach you the words and phrases that are relevant to you and where you want to use French. Learning can be fun when you make it fun and I will do my best to make our lessons pleasant and entertaining.

As a teacher, I try to make my students feel as comfortable as possible. I reassure them that it's okay to make mistakes. For language learning, you're going to make a lot of mistakes and you might even get very frustrated. That's why I am here to ease that frustration and to provide the best techniques to learn French and gain the confidence to speak at whichever level you desire. I love to see that transformation of my students starting with speaking just a few words to forming elaborate sentences with a great French accent. It is extremely fulfilling to watch my students immerse themselves in the French language just as I did when I was learning.

I am not a teacher I am just a girl who was able to work and live in a lot of different countries. A girl that loves to share experiences and help people achieve their goals.

I have been a Teacher Assistant in French classes for 2 years now, and I was also the Director of the French Speaking Lab. I know how to teach students from all around the world. Grammar and conjugation are not a problem for me because I have been teaching all levels already. I also teach conversation and pronunciation. Because I have already had students from all around the world, it is easy for me to bound with them and understand their need.

I got a master degree in French linguistics and literature at the Sorbonne University, in Paris. I lived there for four years and I can say I could learn a lot about the linguistic diversity and the influences from other Francophone countries. I started giving lessons after my studies but it's been two years since I opted for online teaching. It lets me get in touch with people all over the world.
