I hold a Bachelor's degree in Applied Communication from the University of Fort Hare South Africa and a 120 hour TESOL certificate. I have taught English for four years to both kids and grown adults on one-on-one tutorial sessions. if you are looking to exercise and sharpen your English skills in conversation, comprehension, grammar and more, I would be more than happy to help you.

I love teaching, I have 8 years teaching experience in Thailand, teaching English as a second language (ESL) to a wide range of students from Elementary level right through to PhD Students. I kind of fell into teaching when I came to live here in Thailand, I was asked to help at the local school teaching conversation skills to the local students. I really enjoyed this and wanted to do more, I got the teaching bug! I applied for a TEFL/TESOL course and on completion started teaching at a high school, after a few years I went freelance and started to teach at Universities all over South-east Asia.

After completing my High school education I have decided to pursue my destined career in English. So I completed my Graduation and then Post Graduation in English Language. to take it further I am pursuing my Ph.D. and it interesting to note that my research topic is based on the English as A Second Language. Non native speakers of English always inspired me to learn to teach and now to do research in. I am an extrovert and ready to listen people and learn new things from them. I hope to come up with a beneficial outcomes from my research so it can help learners to learn English easily and effectively.

My aim is to help you build your confidence to speak, perfect your accuracy and fluency, and get into the spirit of the language. I'm able to utilise all my academic and business expertise to help you communicate more effectively and prepare for studying or working in English-speaking countries.  While I offer structured courses (A2-C1) and conversational practice, I mostly work with professionals from a variety of industries - medicine, pharmacology, marketing, social work, life sciences, engineering, human resources, construction, finance and others - as well as college/university students. I also provide presentation skills and essay writing lessons to native English speakers.

I've been an English tutor for five years, while I'm not a professional teacher I have quite a bit of experience with helping students improve their speaking. That experience helps me create a relaxed environment for my students to practice and learn. You will always learn something new in each lesson. I started teaching English as a community volunteer in North Carolina, USA and now have more than ten years experience as a professional English teacher and instructor in the UK, Japan and Spain, I have taught private lessons, and group classes in language schools, companies and on government funded programmes. I have degrees in Business Studies and Economics and a number of teaching qualifications. As a teacher, I am very patient, I progress to the rhythm of the student by trying to adapt to his ability to learn and my purpose is to help students to overcome their shyness and fear to talk to strangers with another language so I like to provide a friendly athmosphere during the lessons because for me learning should be fun !

As previously stated I am learning Spanish and never dreamed it would be so challenging to learn a second language. I made many mistakes at first in my studies. But over time I discovered there is a wrong way and a right way to master a second language. I took a TESOL course here in Guadalajara and taught in a private school. So now I can call myself an experienced trained teacher, that is very patient and understanding.
