I'm a businessman and teacher with nearly 40 years' experience. I'm very interested in languages, both as a student and teacher. Currently, I am trying to improve my Italian through lessons on Italki, because we have a house in Italy. Right now, I spend most of my time in our house near Chicago, where I live with my wife and daughter. While much of my time is spent advising businesses on their marketing strategy, I schedule a few hours each week to teach business English and job search, because I find it rewarding to help others advance their careers. I've taught students from more than a dozen countries, with China, Russia, Europe, and South America making up the majority. About 10 years ago, I went back to school to learn how to be a professional teacher. After earning a master's degree, I taught for a time in a public school. Then, about 6 years ago, I started working with students online to help them improve their English, especially for business. Many of my students have gotten promotions or new jobs because of their skill improvement. While I'd like to help language learners at all levels and with all goals, I focus exclusively on students at the upper intermediate or advanced level who want to improve their language skills for business. Ed has helped me in many ways, but especially by preparing me for job interviews. He taught me how to approach the whole process and we prepared and practiced answers to many challenging interview questions. He also works with me on word meaning and pronunciation.
