Hi guys, my name is Ben and I am from Edinburgh in Scotland. Outside of teaching I like to spend my free time doing art, playing the guitar, doing exercise, martial arts and hiking, and most of all travelling to new places. I love meeting new people from different places and sharing interesting experiences. I spent several years living in South America where I taught English and coached martial arts, whilst learning Spanish. I am a passionate qualified and experienced English teacher with several teaching certificates including a CELTA, DELTA and a TEFL certificate. I have taught students from a huge variety of professional backgrounds (journalists, bankers, teachers, businessmen, farmers, etc) and I have taught people of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced, children to adults. I have worked with students from all over the world and formed lasting friendships with many. I like to tailor my lessons to suit the needs of individual students, taking a fun and creative approach to learning, whilst utilising an effective structure in teaching grammar and skills. I can create classes for general English, English for specific purposes and to prepare students for exams, having taught IELTS, Cambridge, various university entrance exams among others. I also tend to set my students plenty of extra activities and homework where required to ensure effective and rapid improvement.

Teaching in a large-scale public college programme for disadvantaged youth across Colombia, implementing new teaching strategies and classroom activities to motivate learning. Undertook administrative classroom tasks - documentation and planning for classes and curriculum.

2015 - 2018

freelance English tutorn/a - Salta, Buenos Aires, 아르헨티나Taught private classes to individuals of various professions and backgrounds. Organized small, complementary group class to teach Venezuelan and Syrian refugees in Buenos Aires. with private classes in other parts of Argentina and Colombia, teaching accountants, doctors, business owners, teachers etc. teaching online whilst back in Europe to a student-base primarily focused in Spain.
