I've been teaching English as a Foreign Language for 15 years in live classrooms, and 7 years online. I speak English and Spanish and specialize in IELTS and TOEFL preparation which I have been doing for 7 years. My background is in Environmental Science, Environmental Journalism and Writing, I am also a published author and podcaster. I enjoy talking about so many different topics it never gets boring. I've been told I am patient and supportive as a teacher. I really love meeting new people, learning about their story and passions and being able to help them be better communicators gives me a lot of satisfaction. We discuss current affairs, science and technology, business and economics, education and creativity, culture and travel, emotional intelligence and philosophy, these are subjects I also give homework in. I am able to help students build their confidence in speaking with fluency about many different topics and more sophisticated vocabulary for homework. I am very experienced in helping students prepare for their IELTS, CAE, FCE, TOEFL and the OET for medical professionals.

Actually, speaking is my weakest point, that is why I got interested in this course by Carlita. The atmosphere during the class is supportive and relaxing, which makes it easy to confront my inner fears. Carlita is the best teacher I've ever had[emoji][emoji][emoji]She is a good speaker and even a better listener!!! Every next lesson is more and more interesting and I enjoy it. If you want to have really good British English you must learn this language with her!!!

I am from a non-English-speaking country. I had 10 lessons with Miss Shaw. She is a passionate, wise mentor and always raises me up. I just want to say that I am very lucky to join her class and very grateful for everything she has done.
