Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile! Here's a quick personal introduction: my favorite topics to discuss include food, dance, music, fine arts, fashion, technology, philosophy, literature, and everyday musings. My hobbies include cooking, dancing, drawing, painting, designing, and making fun things. I love going for long walks! I have lived in many places, such as Seoul, Korea, Asuncion, Paraguay, the Washington, DC area, Charlottesville, VA, Kitakyushu, Japan, Brooklyn, NY, Honolulu, HI, El Paso, TX, and Los Angeles, CA. My travels have taken me to many places far and wide, with some very interesting adventures. I'd love to share more during our classes, and hear about your adventures! I have been teaching ESL for a total of over 30 years, and have been a certified ESL teacher for over 24 years. My passion for teaching comes from my own love of learning languages. I currently speak five languages, and am looking forward to learning more! My firsthand understanding of the challenges one faces when learning a new language gives me a rare insight into how to address students' needs. One of my specialties is bringing students out of their shells, helping them overcome shyness or fear around making mistakes. Seeing my students smile and have fun while learning is my greatest source of joy when teaching.
