Hello! My name is Lucia. I am Latin-American and my native language is Spanish. My second language is English, but I use both languages on a daily basis. I currently live in the United States. I have always been interested in languages and I am currently learning two languages: Mandarin Chinese and Hindi. <b>Favorite topics:</b> Languages, learning, culture, cuisine, travel. <b>Hobbies: </b>Learning languages, cooking, drawing, watching foreign films, traveling and reading (mostly about psychology, learning, and language). I have lived in 3 different places: Panama, Brazil, Taiwan and the US where I currently live. I have been teaching languages online since 2014. <b>My motivation for becoming a teacher:</b> I want to be the kind of teacher I wish I had: *I pay close attention to the kind of mistakes you make and I keep track of them*. I review our class notes in order to prepare for our next class. *I can also help you fill your vocabulary/grammar gaps.* I pay close attention to your pronunciation and grammar so that you sound more natural. I encourage you to speak, to ask questions, to listen and to use the language. I am very patient. <b>Conversation</b> - I use the question-answer approach because pretty much anything you can say can be turned into a question. The topics and amount of details will vary depending on your level. <b>Reading comprehension</b> - I think reading is one of the most beneficial habits you can have when learning a language.
