Hi! I'm Mafe and I'm from Colombia. After living in many different places, I have settled down in Spain (at least for a while). I love traveling, history, cultures and photography. And I am always happy to learn new things from my students as I help them practice conversation about their favorite topics. I have been teaching Spanish for 7 years now and I love it. It makes me very happy to see students that didn't know any Spanish when they first started and are now speaking with confidence and are able to hold conversations in Spanish. If the student knows enough Spanish to hold conversations, then I'll help them practice talking to me about different subjects. I'll propose a topic and then ask questions related to it that forces them to think and express ideas in Spanish. If the student is new to Spanish, I'll explain concepts first, then we do exercises, then we practice what we learned and I'll give homework if the student wants to practice on their time off. I correct mistakes, explain why, and leave notes.

Mafe is so patient and explains things so well, especially things like subjunctive, which she then uses to build up your ability to talk more naturally. Brilliant!
