Hi ! My name is Mey, and I love music and plants. I enjoy reading and watching videos about everything, to improve myself at what I do every day, from making my own nut butter, to learning on how memory works, or how to play new songs on the guitar. I was born in Paris, but now I live in Normandy. I am a native French speaker. Though my father is Egyptian, I had to learn the little bit of Arabic I know, and I'm still learning ! I know what it takes to move on to the next level when you're learning something, so I can relate to you. I'm new on Italki, but I'm not new to teaching ! It's been over three years now since I gave my first lesson, in a training center near Paris, and I've learned a lot about teaching since then. In the city of Rouen, I've worked on a regular basis at a language school where I've had a lot of students, ranging from beginners to more advanced, from more countries than I can list. I focus on the true needs of each student, and I often remind them that practice makes perfect. Whether they're learning French for a project or just for fun, seeing my student's progress and how their work is rewarded as they get closer to their goals are some of the many reasons why I love my job ! It's so frustrating when you know that you've learned something, but can't recall it when the moment comes to use it in real life ! That's why I teach in French as much as possible. Very happy with my lesson with Mey. This was my first ever lesson on iTalki and I was very nervous, but she was very friendly, understanding and really settled my nerves. She was well organised and gave me great advice and feedback. Looking forward to my next class. Thanks so much again :)
