Konnichiwa! My name is Chikako. Nice to meet you! I am originally from Japan and now I am living in Canada since 2018. I love traveling, drawing, cooking and music! I am a very friendly person, I am so happy to share my first language with someone who is eager to study. Not only teaching Japanese, but also I want to build a friendship too because I want to make a casual mood in my class so that you can ask me any question. I can't wait seeing you in my class!! I have been helping children to learn Japanese at Japanese school in Vancouver since 2019. Also, I worked in translation department (English to Japanese) at an IT company. So, I can help you in business conversation too. Currently I have an Instagram account for people who want to learn Japanese. Until today (May 19th 2020), there are mostly 800 followers and they are learning Japanese through my posts. My teaching style is focused on conversation. For the beginners, we will start off with basic everyday phrases, pronunciation and vocabulary then I will introduce hiragana and katakana using my handmade flashcards. For the intermediate, we will choose a topic to talk about and then review the grammar or new vocabulary. Regardless of your level, at the end of the class, you will get a personalized summary note with points to review.

Chika made it very comfortable to learn and practice Japanese. She assessed my level of understanding and provided fun ways to approach learning a new language. I loved my first lesson and highly recommend her classes

First lesson: Chikako-san was really well prepared but also this was a lesson to assess my level a bit. We studied a bit of kanji and reviewed and practiced -te form. A great lesson despite some skype issues!

Absolutely awesome lesson !!! My dauter and I where nervous at first but Chikako made us feel very comfortable and she is very patient and fun. We look forward to our next lesson.
