I'm Maria, a certified language teacher with over 2 years of experience teaching adults! Born and raised in Portugal, I currently live in Berlin with my loving Turkish-German partner. Did you know that I'm an enthusiastic language learner myself? I speak Portuguese, English, Spanish, German and Turkish (not to mention I know my Hindi, Italian, Arabic and Polish basics!). When I'm not teaching, I love reading all kinds of literature, writing, watching movies and series, going for a walk at the park, watching history documentaries, traveling, trying new food and singing. I have a different smile on my face for every day of the week and love inspiring people to take chances! If you've always dreamed of learning European Portuguese but lack speaking practice with a native teacher who is willing to give you regular one-to-one attention, take notes, provide detailed feedback at the end of each lesson and tell you everything there is to know about our culture...I think you've just found your sidekick! I'm all about positivity, having a good laugh and celebrating small victories. I'm realistic and honest about what you need to improve, but you'll never have to worry about getting a bad grade. Let's learn to speak, pronounce and write Portuguese the way us natives actually do it, not that old-school version you find in random online resources! My lessons offer pure speaking, pronunciation and writing practice where you get time to express yourself. I'll help you develop your confiden...

Very open-minded teacher, very active conversation what I liked the exchange as she lives in Germany and I in her country, she corrected me and told me how Portuguese really pronounce it which was for me very helpful. It was a first short but very effective lesson. We decided to do reading courses and then talk about the story and doing grammar which is for me my main point as I want to improve there. I find it good, that she sends me a sheet in which she writes down what was done during the lesson. I really like that she is also that multi-cultural and that we can exchange our views about Germany and Portugal.

Maria is cheerful, professional and speaks very clearly. She is an experienced teacher and language learner which makes her ability to help learner very high. I recommend her and look forward to having more lessons with her.
