Hello. My name is Richard, and I live in the far south of England. Specifically, I live on the Isle of Wight, which is a small island in the English Channel, between England and France. I am very passionate about communication, and learning new ways to improve my communication skills, which is why I am here on Italki. I enjoy learning languages, like many of you I suppose, so I spend almost all of my time studying. My favourite thing to teach is communication. When learning a new language, there are some problems people might run into: connotations, culture, exactly how we think, formality etc. As a teacher, I aim to teach students how to communicate with English-speaking people. I can teach communication in most settings, whether formal or informal, but my speciality is general, everyday conversation. I have two main types of lessons: grammar lessons, and conversational lessons. Grammar lessons focus on the construction of different types of English sentences, allowing the student to practice with new constructions and use them to communicate ideas. Conversational lessons focus on the student's ability to improvise, as I firmly believe that improvisation is the most important skill for communication. Grammar lessons will be done with grammar books and worksheets if needed. The worksheets can be produced by me if necessary; just ask! The conversational lessons use two ebooks: one of them has easy, everyday questions, whereas the second has harder questions.

The class was lovely. The teacher is so amicable and friendly that I never felt nervousness during the class. Besides, he made me talk a lot which I think is the most important aspect of a speaking class to be successful.
