I am Mika, an English teacher from the Philippines. I am a Magna cum laude graduate of Education Major in Communication Arts-English from University of the Philippines Diliman, the number 1 university in the Philippines. + Experienced teaching English to Filipino and foreign learners – both young children and adults + Passionate about history, culture, language, philosophy, and literature + I enjoy reading books and journalling. My love for learning is exceeded only by my passion for teaching. I am driven by my desire to teach students and to learn from their unique perspectives as well. + I assess the student's needs and abilities + I want to make them feel capable of achieving their learning goals + My classroom is always a safe space for students to learn and be themselves. My teaching style is always student-centered as I believe that the learner's input (culture, ideas, personality, background knowledge) are integral parts of his/her learning progress. I teach based on the student's needs and areas for improvement so that learning is always relevant and intentional. I am educated on teaching both basic English skills such as Phonics, Grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and higher level ones such as Conversational English and Public Speaking. +There will be a significant amount of student talking time (STT) to allow the students to practice using the language. 80% STT and 20% teacher talking time. + I am friendly, patient, and understanding.

During my practice teaching, I have experienced teaching English to students aged 5-11. I have not received my diploma yet because I completed my degree last December 2019 and our commencement exercises will be in June of this year. I have obtained a certificate as proof of my educational attainment.

ESL InstructorEnderun Colleges - Taguig, 菲律賓Enderun Colleges, an international school in the Philippines, hosts ESL camps throughout the year. I started teaching in Enderun in February of this year and I have taught Japanese students aged 19-21 for 6 weeks - the whole duration of their stay here in the PH. I taught topics such as Conversational English, Accent Training and Pronunciation, Public Speaking, and Business English. I taught online and face-to-face classes during my employment here.
