About Me

I have a true passion for teaching and strive to pass that passion on to my students. I'm a certified teacher with : ACTFL OPI Oral Proficiency Interview (The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Master Degree in teaching skills and italian culture International House teaching quality certificate Ditals Certificate on Teaching Method Capability for Italian to Foreigner Examiner Certification CELI Italian Language for Foreigners 15 years experience in 5 countries Experience with both adults and children .In my group lessons I prepare content and activities that are appropriate but challenging for the students so they work beyond their comfort zone and remember what they learn. In recent years I have studied, practiced and analyzed various teaching methodologies and taught students using "best practices". In addition to direct classroom teaching, I have had the honor and responsibility of providing didactic training at the language school where I am currently employed, for both teachers at the beginning of their career and American university professors interested in courses to strengthen and improve their teaching skills.

Another great lesson with Federico! I love my lessons with him for so many reasons. He is always prepared and always includes, listening, speaking and writing in every lesson. He has a sense of humor and is just fun to work with. He also chooses and prepares materials that are thought-provoking, entertaining, and hold your interest. My Italian has improved enormously since I began working with him. He always pushes me beyond my "comfort zone" so that I am always learning and continually improving my language skills.
