About Me

Hello! I'm James, a friendly and patient TEFL qualified teacher from Scotland, in the UK. I have over 5 years experience teaching online and in classrooms in Spain and Vietnam. I'm also a writer and musician and have travelled to many different places. I'm very interested in other cultures and always find it very interesting to talk to students on Italki. We will never lack something to talk about! I can help you become fluent and confident in conversation, prepare for an IELTS exam or job interview, write a CV and learn Business English. I also offer proofreading services. If there's anything else you need help with, send me a message! Most of my lessons focus on speaking and listening. I often use clips from BBC Radio programmes, which allow you to practice listening to native speakers and discuss a wide range of topics. I have lots of grammar material to help you learn the more technical parts of the language. During the lesson, I will send corrections and examples over our chat, so that you have them to practice after the lesson. In our lessons I will give you the maximum possible amount of opportunities to speak English, having interesting and fun conversations while learning new vocabulary and grammar. Whatever your aims, I will build our lessons around them.
