About Me
italki teacher since Oct 11, 2019
I was born in Porto San Giorgio, Italy and lived there most of my young life until I started my university studies in Bologna, Italy. After this I moved to England for 6 months where I had my first experience abroad with another language. I then went on to Ibiza for the summer season working as promoter for the best clubs in the world. In 2011 I wanted to check out what Australia had to offer and I made it my home for 6 years and gained my citizenship and passport there. I then finally decided to settle back in Europe in Barcelona, where I have lived for the last two years. Here I work as a certified English teacher in a high school in the morning and a language school in the afternoon. I've been teaching for 2 years in a high school in the morning and some language schools in the afternoon. I also gave some private classes to students that needed to improve their school marks or were preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate. Due to the fact I love studying languages myself, I feel I have the tools to understand how different people learn, and that learning should be interesting and fun. It is for this reason that I welcome suggestions and requests from students to enable me to adapt every single class towards what the student wants. I am very friendly, and chatty and I will ask lots of questions to maximize the student speaking time. I like to establish a good connection with my students, create a bond in order to speed up the learning process and make it FUN! I am gen...

Lezione leggera e divertente, Loris mi ha messo subito a mio agio fornendomi gli strumenti per iniziare una conversazione. Molto disponibile alle domande e curiosità.

Great lesson! We identified that I still struggle to ask simple questions about people in Italian. But I am much better at answering questions. So I still need to practice asking about people. We did start having more casual conversations which was easier for me in Italian than the introductions and I started using more new words. It was great to be able to start using the words I have learned in a conversation. I think it is partly because the introductions are more awkward and conversations are more relaxed so I forget what I am saying less. A positive for me was that I improved my listening and understanding of Italian. Because I was able to understand and answer all the questions for the listening exercise. Watching tv in Italian must have worked so I will keep doing this as practice. I will focus on practising new introductions and try speaking Italian. Also I will complete the exercises on page 29 this is good because I struggle with Italian verbs and conjugations.

The lesson was really good, I learnt a lot! I have some exercises to do but most importantly we identified that I need to practice speaking and learning simple sentences and introductions. It is really helpful to identify this as I still struggle to hold a simple conversation and introduce myself. I think it is because when I am put on the spot I forget what I have learned. But it is good to know that is my main difficulty as I think just speaking it until I don't forget will really help me overcome this. Interestingly when the simple sentences are written down i know what it means, so I think I must practice speaking it more for Tuesday! Grazie mille Loris!
