About Me

I have worked as a teacher assistant in Arabic at the University of Washington and Lee, VA, USA. It was an amazing experience that allowed me to teach my mother tongue to other people who are different from me in terms of race, language, and culture. I have also taught at Amideast which is considered one of the most famous institutes for teaching Arabic as a foreign language in the MENA region. Everyone has his own favorite art and teaching Arabic is my favorite art. I have been working as a teacher of Arabic and for almost 4 years and I have always tried to use all the methods and techniques that might help my students learn the Arabic Language in a good and interactive way and in the best teaching environment available. As a teacher, I try always to focus on teaching Arabic communicatively as I think that languages are meant for communication. I also try to provide my students with an environment based on fun and games that boost their learning performance. Whenever it is possible I always try to enhance my teaching styles by taking MOOCs that have something to do with learning methods and approaches.

Ismail has an effective, interactive teaching style that I have never experienced on Italki. Be prepared to be amazed! I especially like that he teaches in Arabic and is patient to help me understand but if for some reason the message is not conveyed he does speak amazing English, which is always helpful. This lesson deserves one of my few 5 star reviews on Italki. Ismail layers the lesson starting with new vocabulary following it up with a second layer using the vocabulary until finally giving a lesson discussing everything. After that there was another discussion using a short video clip. Well done and highly recommended!

Ismail is one of those teachers who is passionate about what he does. In this lesson we learned about social media. He used a variety of methods culminating with a dialogue at the end. His use of repetition and self diagnoses to help the learning process was spot on. Thanks Ismail!
