About Me

Hi guys, my name is Ben and I am from Edinburgh in Scotland. Outside of teaching I like to spend my free time doing art, playing the guitar, doing exercise, martial arts and hiking, and most of all travelling to new places. I love meeting new people from different places and sharing interesting experiences. I spent several years living in South America where I taught English and coached martial arts, whilst learning Spanish. I am a passionate qualified and experienced English teacher with several teaching certificates including a CELTA, DELTA and a TEFL certificate. I have taught students from a huge variety of professional backgrounds (journalists, bankers, teachers, businessmen, farmers, etc) and I have taught people of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced, children to adults. I have worked with students from all over the world and formed lasting friendships with many. I like to tailor my lessons to suit the needs of individual students, taking a fun and creative approach to learning, whilst utilising an effective structure in teaching grammar and skills. I can create classes for general English, English for specific purposes and to prepare students for exams, having taught IELTS, Cambridge, various university entrance exams among others. I also tend to set my students plenty of extra activities and homework where required to ensure effective and rapid improvement.
