I am Santhi from Tamil Nadu, India. Basically i'm a civil engineer with a master diploma in environmental engineering. As a native Tamil speaker, I have been taking classes through italki for the past 8 years to a variety of students across the globe. My hobbies include reading novels, listening to music and travelling. Having a special interest in making a sustainable world for the future generation, as a contribution to the noble cause I pledged the full amount generated through italki in planting sapling and maintaining them. So far 100+ trees were planted and taken care in my native town As an UNO teaching volunteer I have be taking online Science classes to school children in government schools in remote tribal areas. Recognizing my contribution I was awarded the BEST ONLINE TEACHING VOLUNTEER AWARD 2013 by UNO. Part of developing my teaching skill set I had taken up course like Advanced Instructional Strategies in Virtual Classroom & Foundations of Teaching for Learning to improve etc., My classes use to be very interactive in nature and very flexible to the student's need. To give a holistic idea about Tamil language I also teach my students about the history & culture.

We repeated Past, Present and Future tenses for Avan/Aval/Avar. It was a very interesting lesson. Santhi is very helpful. Although learning Tamil is not easy for me, now many things are getting more clear.

Very nice lesson with Santhiram today. We went through the first 4 letters of the Tamil alphabet. There was also vocabulary with each word that we pronounced and discussed together. I look forward to the next lesson. Thanks a lot!
