Learn Japanese with private Japanese teachers

While in college, I tutored students in Japanese. I taught conversational Japanese (mostly JPN101 and 102), and also helped Japanese children with their homework for their local school in the United States. I can help explain difficult Japanese concepts to you in English to help you to fully understand each lesson before moving on to the next lesson. I have a teacher license for English leaner in Japan. It was a special time for me. Especially I was with small kids after the earthquake in 1995, I volunteered to teach Japanese for children who lost their houses. I have no professional teaching experience, but I love to teach Japanese for people.

When I was a university student, I was working at a prep school and teaching English and Japanese. Also, I have experienced working at an English school. I took a summer course in “Japanese pedagogy” in St.Louis in 2019. Currently, I’m teaching Japanese to students at a university in Maine while studying linguistics.

I have the experience to help friends learning Japanese. I always tried to support and understand what's better to help to improve their Japanese. To see them improving and enjoying Japanese made me really happy. Although I've never taught Japanese as a professional teacher, as I learned English and French for so long, I remember how I wanted to be helped by my teacher. From that experience, I have many tips to share with you in my lesson.

I have taught Japanese/English for high school students at a juku, and also worked at an international school. I have stayed in Bali to teach local kids English at a kindergarten. I’m in the process of learning Spanish and English, so I know how difficult to learn another language can be. To be honest, I am not professional Japanese teacher, therefore I don’t have any correct method how to teach grammar, Kanji etc… But I’ll really do everything I can think of, for example, if you have a doubt of grammar in my class, I am going to prepare the document for explaining you next class.

I have a teaching experience of Japanese and English. So I know how hard it is to learn foreign languages. For beginner , I'd like to teach greeting in Japanese first, and then demonstrate some common expression in Japanese. For middle level students, I'd like to do talk about something that you like and share these thing s with you. This si the goal for middle level students. So I will show some expressions that you use when you share your favorite thing. For advanced students, I will give some options that they want to do. One of them is free conversation. It's a great training for them to express themselves in Japanese. You don't have to be afraid of making mistakes!
