As a teacher, in the last 25 years of experience, I've come across many different students. Students of English typically need to understand the fine points of grammar. Businessmen need to know technical terms, as well as social norms for informal situations. I am experienced in teaching a topic that a lot of students overlook whilst learning a language, which is phonetics. My main focus when it relates to language teaching is putting close attention at its pronunciation, since languages are living entities used to communicate with people, and learning a language's phonology is key in order to break that gap left when speaking in a foreign language.

Here in China I found a lot of people, both kids and adults that wanted to speak or learn from foreigners. As such I slowly learned how to teach people. During my schooldays I discovered that I excelled in language classes and I chose English and French as major subjects. Later on, I had the chance to intensify my language skills and add other languages during a vocational training and tourism studies. While I learned those languages in a classical classroom setting, there were no language courses or books available to learn the languages of Malaysia. I had to learn them by listening to and communicating with the local people. I might not have the qualifications of a professional teacher, but I can tap into my experiences of learning languages and I can draw a lot of valuable and useful knowledge from there to share with you.

I have just graduated from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where I studied Languages - Portuguese. However, my relationship with foreign languages goes way back. I've been learning English since I was 11, and teaching it since I was 16. During college, I also took a lot of interest in teaching Portuguese as a second or foreign language; I love the idea of teaching someone about my own beloved language and culture and, at the same time, learn about their languages and cultures. My greatest teaching experience was at the Language Without Borders program, which allowed me to teach English to university students for 2 years. I also worked in private English schools and with private students.

I have 15 years experience teaching online and face-to-face classes, specializing in General and Business English, conversation classes and special programs. I have a few grammar workshops available for online study, but I also just like meeting new students for conversation classes. For the last 5 years I have been in Academic Management, mainly designing courses and workshops to benefit different groups of students.
