A Korean who grew up and lived in Korean speaks the Korean language well. Even if a Korean speaks the Korean language well, all of them are not good at teaching the language. The reason is that, speaking the language and teaching it is different. So, I think the teaching skill is very important for teachers. The reasons I will teach well is... 1) I am teaching my kids, Korean school, and Sejong Hakdang for many years. While I was teaching for many years, I learned how to teach a second language as Korean and English. 2) A good thing about me is I am good at teaching and I love my student. 3) I also know how it feels to learn a new language because I learned a second language English.

I am experienced and passionate Korean tutor. I focus on SPEAKING in the class but I also help grammar ,listening, reading and writing as well.

My majors are English Language and Korean as a foreign language. I was fascinated to teach what I know while I was an English teacher in Korea for four years and I learned how to pour love to my students by spending quality time. Moreover, teaching Korean at the university in the USA made me feel more proud of what I am doing as a native speaker. As a teacher, I consider communication as well as knowledge as the top priority to know what students are struggling with and help with it properly. I can be your friend-like teacher!

Ever since I graduated highschool, I started tutoring, and sometimes lecturing in front of a group of middle school students. I try my best to have special bond with students as well as teaching them. I believe, when interests and needs combine together, you can learn the language as fast as you could. I have been teaching online for a period of time now. I enjoy talking to people from different cultures (teaching them about my culture and they teach me about their cultures). i enjoy every lesson I have with my students, I hope they do too.

In the beginning, for 3 years, I taught 'Korean to English translation course' at a language school in downtown, Toronto. I continued to teach conversational, essential English and exam preparation (IELTS, TOEIC, TOPIK) for 7 years as a tutor. My target of students were: international students preparing to go into university, primary-junior/high school students, children and adults. I believe that a language learning needs a personalised system and methods. I learned how to communicate with students while teaching as an assistant, and learned how to solve problems in a way that does not hurt them. Also, I have experience of teaching trainees by acquiring a teaching qualification while doing Taekwondo. I will communicate more with students in the course of teaching.

As a language teacher, I have a lot of different interests and hobbies that helped me learning about the cultural and linguistic aspects of the target languages. This includes music, anime, games and reading. I try to connect and share my passion with my students and incorporate them into my lessons. I would love to find out about your hobbies and discuss them for our lessons. I believe that the most important activity to learn a language is to interact with the native speakers. Studying through text books and vocabulary memorisation helps for sure but it is never as fast and effective as having comfortable conversation.
