French has so many language dialects and a lot of slang so I'm not going to judge someone for their accent when speaking French - there are over 20 countries that speak French so there are that many ways to speak French while being a native speaker. I'll teach you the basics that most French people use in their daily lives and teach you the words and phrases that are relevant to you and where you want to use French. Learning can be fun when you make it fun and I will do my best to make our lessons pleasant and entertaining.

As a teacher, I try to make my students feel as comfortable as possible. I reassure them that it's okay to make mistakes. For language learning, you're going to make a lot of mistakes and you might even get very frustrated. That's why I am here to ease that frustration and to provide the best techniques to learn French and gain the confidence to speak at whichever level you desire. I love to see that transformation of my students starting with speaking just a few words to forming elaborate sentences with a great French accent. It is extremely fulfilling to watch my students immerse themselves in the French language just as I did when I was learning.

Teaching languages has been running in the family for decades and I have teaching English for 6 years, to children and to adults. I've been a teacher for 6 years now. I gathered my theoretical knowledge during my academic education (Master of Arts in Linguistics and Literature French/Spanish). However, it is mostly my practical experience which allows me to provide practical and hands-on tutoring (Specific Teacher Training in Languages and 6 years of experience as a French teacher).

I have been a Teacher Assistant in French classes for 2 years now, and I was also the Director of the French Speaking Lab. I know how to teach students from all around the world. Grammar and conjugation are not a problem for me because I have been teaching all levels already. I also teach conversation and pronunciation. Because I have already had students from all around the world, it is easy for me to bound with them and understand their need.

I got a master degree in French linguistics and literature at the Sorbonne University, in Paris. I lived there for four years and I can say I could learn a lot about the linguistic diversity and the influences from other Francophone countries. I started giving lessons after my studies but it's been two years since I opted for online teaching. It lets me get in touch with people all over the world.

I started off as a volunteer tutor back when I was studying at Uni, helping middle school and high school students improve their English. I have now been teaching full-time since beginning 2016: first in New Zealand schools, then for a year in Australia where I was working at the same time in schools and at the Alliance Française, as well as providing one-on-one private tuitions. Now back in NZ, I work only with Alliance Française, both as a teacher and as a DELF/DALF examiner. Because I really like the mecanics of languages, I specialise in teaching grammar. I mostly teach adults, sometimes teenagers, so conversation classes are also one of my strength.

I still remember the first time I had to do a formal presentation in a foreign language at work, it was a thrilling experience, to say the least! Ever since then, I knew that I had to work in something that required a lot of human interaction, and cross-cultural communication. Although my previous work experience was not exactly as a teacher, I did have to successfully perform various tasks that teachers usually do. Presenting information in a clear and compelling way, evaluating the proper understanding of those topics, and adapt whatever needs to be adapted for constant improvement.

As a language learner I learned more than 15 languages on italki, but I'm maintaining only 9 and learning my 10th (Chinese...). So I kind of know what are the mistake you should avoid as a beginner and give you some great tricks if you are already an advance student. As a teacher, my real job is a piano teacher, so teaching is my passion and this is what I was trained for!
