I have been teaching on Italki for almost two years now. I can look back on teaching people from dozens of countries around the world. Young, old, children, teenagers, business people, students - people from all kinds of cultures and with unique expectations. Additionally, I had been a student myself on Italki for about another two years before. I am a highly experienced English teacher . I have a genuine interest in helping people to learn the language, and am capable of teaching English at many different levels and for many purposes.

I am a teacher of communicative English with more than 8 years of teaching experience. I can also teach my native language Bengali with the same ease. My courses are designed to suit the individual need of students as I believe each students have different learning styles. I teach English and Bengali from A1 - C2 level. I can also guide students in test preparation like TOEFL. . I always focus on the requirements of students and regularly monitor their progress by holding various tests.

I graduated with a BA in English Studies (I studied Applied Linguistics, Media and Literature). I have been teaching English for the last 3 years in both Morocco and India. My method of teaching is very simple and fun: CONVERSATIONS. I learned English through friendly conversations and this is the way through which I will help you to become fluent and confident while speaking English.

On italki, I've taught students from ages 2 to 60, I taught beginners, intermediate, and highly advanced students. I've taught skills, grammar, and vocabulary lessons as well as specialized lessons like Business English, Travel English, English Literature and test preparation (IELTS, FCE, TOEFL). Outside of italki, I've taught beginner English speakers and tutoring intermediate English students. During my stay in Chile I helped teach students, ages 5-7, in the English as a Second Language program in my school as a volunteer. I also helped prepare young students, ages 10-18, for the First Certificate in English (FCE) after school.

I customize my lesson for every individual student taking into account their preferences and learning needs. I also incorporate grammar, idioms, videos, homework, etc if the student needs that to succeed. I can offer both casual or customized lessons.

I think my best quality as a teacher is empathy, as I understand the student's point of view very well and it is easy for me to put myself in their shoes. It is important to me that everyone has a good time while learning and I always try to bring a positive attitude into the classroom, be it face-to-face or virtual.

Although I have never formally trained in teaching language, I have voluntarily taught Japanese for many years. I’ve attended to language exchange lessons in Toronto and New York and taught Japanese to people from all over the world (e.g. American, Canadian, Russian, Polish, German, Chinese, Korean, Indian etc.) from very beginners to fluent people. I made close friends who learn Japanese and we always asked and taught each other when I was studying English. One of my best friends is an American and he still asks me about the Japanese language even after he moved to Japan.

I’m interested in italki institution because it gives an opportunity to teach English to beginners and the advanced, and these are two things I value a lot – English professionals and young learners. I'm very patient, sociable, and a good listener. I have taught English to over 500 students from various parts of the world. It is my deepest desire to help us improve their English communication skills.

After completing my High school education I have decided to pursue my destined career in English. So I completed my Graduation and then Post Graduation in English Language. to take it further I am pursuing my Ph.D. and it interesting to note that my research topic is based on the English as A Second Language. Non native speakers of English always inspired me to learn to teach and now to do research in. I am an extrovert and ready to listen people and learn new things from them. I hope to come up with a beneficial outcomes from my research so it can help learners to learn English easily and effectively.

I have 5 years of experience in teaching adults (general English, business English, test preparation), teenagers (general English, test preparation), and children. I have been teaching English for over 20 years, and Macedonian and Serbian for about 5 years. My classes are student centered, so my priority is to assess what the students need and what their learning style is. Once I find out what is important for the students, I tailor my lessons to them and personalize my instruction. The most important factor for me in learning languages is to enjoy and have fun during the process.

What distinguishes me from other teachers is my passion as well as my strategy. I like to prepare conversation topics, songs, news articles, philosophical questions that have the relevant vocabulary and grammar structures to improve your speaking skills. My personal opinion is that anyone can learn a language: it is not a talent, but a skill. Just like math or riding a skateboard, it is a skill that you can develop. I am here to help you hone in on your skills and succeed in your interview, writing an essay or reading a book in English or German.

I'm quite patient and very understanding if you ever feel frustrated or just simply overwhelmed, so I can be very helpful when it comes to learning a challenging topic. I really think pronunciation is very important, since we almost always communicate verbally, and that's how we make first impressions.
