I work primarily with Beginner and Intermediate learners (A1 - B2+) but I am able to teach all learners. I have been a teacher for more than 3 years. in the beginning, like most novice teachers, I couldn't find the balance. I used to drown my students in freer practice because that's how I had learned the language myself. little by little I realized controlled practices aren't all that useless if we direct them properly. However, my experience with international students has taught me that there is a limit to objectivity and impersonal curiosity.
