I've been teaching English for the past 2 years. Primarily, I focus on young learners aged 6 up to 18 years of age. As far as I'm concerned, I have been learning English since I was 15. I've passed two Cambridge exams, namely First Certificate in English and Cambridge Advanced English. Thanks to my vast knowledge of English, I had worked as a Secretary to the Japanese Ambassador for 12 years before I started to run my own business.

I am a native English speaker with one year of experience teaching English to young students and one year of tutoring experience with adults. During my time as a language assistant in Cannes, France I created lessons that aligned with the specific level of each class, I used a combination of English and French to communicate with the students, and I enjoyed my role as an ambassador for the English language and American culture. While I was there I provided individual English lessons to adults. In these lessons we focused on vocabulary, listening comprehension, and oral comprehension. I am now residing in the United States and have recently received a 40-hour TEFL/TESOL certification.

I am teaching Spanish to beginners, intermediate and high levels. I have five years of experience giving private lessons and giving online sessions in learning Spanish. I like to focus on the requests of my students, though I prefer an interactive methodology. I adapt my teaching style to the students’ needs. I am a qualified Foundation Phase teacher. My last qualification is an Honours Bachelor of Education in Education management. I have 26 years of teaching experience. My core responsibilities are teaching learners who have learning challenges in math, English, and Afrikaans. The students are from 5 to 10 years old. The progress of every student as an individual is vital as each one is unique and special in their own way. My learners are diverse on every level. During my schooldays I discovered that I excelled in language classes and I chose English and French as major subjects. Later on, I had the chance to intensify my language skills and add other languages during a vocational training and tourism studies. While I learned those languages in a classical classroom setting, there were no language courses or books available to learn the languages of Malaysia. I had to learn them by listening to and communicating with the local people. I might not have the qualifications of a professional teacher, but I can tap into my experiences of learning languages and I can draw a lot of valuable and useful knowledge from there to share with you.

I’m a Cambridge/CELTA qualified professional native English teacher with over 2 years experience in the classroom environment. I began teaching in International House Dublin which is part of the IH network spanning 52 countries with over 160 language centres. I’ve been teaching in a public school and private language centre in Hanoi since February 2019. I’ve taught General, Academic and Business English to students from all over the world. I teach Business English focusing on specific skills such as meetings, presentations, interview skills and vocabulary of Business. I’ve prepared classes and 121 students for IELTS & TOEIC exams while also tutoring postgrad students preparing theses.

I have taught in a number of countries and taught many age ranges. I have experience of teaching IELTS, Business English, General English, Writing techniques and Pronunciation. I have a very clear speaking voice and my lessons are fun and informative. I also teach children and provide very entertaining lessons.

As an ESL teacher (I have certification with TEFL) I was stunned to learn that something like 95% of students fail to reach even marginal fluency. To me that means there is something seriously wrong with the way students are being taught. I set out to discover the roots of this problem and I've discovered that there are several reasons. I've developed a method to help, but I also just teach conversational English if you prefer that.

Describing myself as a teacher, I would say that I’m very patient, motivated and flexible. I offer experience, guidance, and support to help students towards their individual goals. I have taken more than 10,500 lessons on this site alone and I still feel as passionate about tutoring as I did when I first started.
